Alcohol and study isn’t a good combination. The use of alcohol has more influence on the study success than the presence during the classes. Side jobs, watching television and surfing the internet have less effect.
An American researcher found this out, reports the website Inside Higher Ed. The researcher ascertained that students if students do voluntary work or certain activities, it effects them less. “They don’t drink less, they drink smarter”, according to the researcher.
He bases his findings on a survey, which was held with 14.000 first year students of 167 colleges and universities. The students of the best universities experience this effect, as well. Still the drinking students score well, but have more capabilities according to the researcher.
