7 SepHbo Intro Festival gets bigger

The biggest student festival from Breda is coming up! Thursday , September 15^th, the city will turn into a big festival, the HBO[i] Intro Festival. This year, all of the thousands students can party all night long with Dutch singer: Dries Roelvink and deejay’s like The Partysquad, BZB, La Fuente and Funkerman.

Through HBO Intro Festival, students can explore the city and take knowledge of all of the Higher Vocational Education studies in Breda. The festival lounge inside the Grote Kerk, which is the centre of the festival, is this year for the first time turned into a true Heineken Cathedral. Inside the Heineken Cathedral there is a lounge corner with a stage for several artist, a girls corner and a men’s corner and more… Besides that, there is a second edition of the Jupiler drakenbootrace, organized by Bress, Bress is the sports centre for students in Breda.

Winning student band and Deejay
For the first time there is a connection between the Higher Vocational Education from Breda and the performing artists. The Performing artists are: SOC and DJ Y-Mor. They have won the first edition of the Battle of the Bands and the Battle of de DJ’s, a competition for students in Breda, whereby they have gained a spot in the list of artists that will perform at the festival. For example Avans, SPW Student Ilonka van Hooydonk, DJ Y-mor which stands for Romy van Geffen a student at art & design, st Joost.

After the party with the student performers, several top artists will hit the stage. Artists like Dj Biggi and Paul Veth, Dries Roelvink, Billy the Klit, The Partysquad and many more.

Expecting 10.000 students
The festival is a collaboration with oneMen, this organization will be selling t-shirts at the festival for charity. Like last year there will be students of internal safety, they will cooperate with PPS Security, to secure the festival. They have had special courses. The HBO Intro Festival is for students, organized by students. The students are in the organization for the HBO Intro Festival because it is a part of an internship at Avans Hogeschool.

According to the organization, at least 10.000 students are attending the Hbo Intro Festival. The majority will be freshman’s, but there are many older students who will attending the festival also, just because they like the festival, says Brit Ossel. The Hbo Intro Festival is Thursday night September 15^th  start: 17:00 till 23:00.
