And, once you have decided to move to Breda for your study (good choice!) you will need to find student accommodation. Or perhaps you already live in the city, but are looking for something different. There are many opportunities for finding accommodation. Below is a list of possibilities:

WoonLoket Breda 

The housing corporations in Breda (Laurentius, Singelveste AlleeWonen and WonenBreburg) have a large number of shared and solitary apartments for students. To be eligible for these apartments you have to be registered with Woonloket Breda. A system for joint registration has been developed, to prevent you from registering with each corporation separately. Please look for further information: www.woonloketbreda.nl – student housing.

N.B.: www.woonloketbreda.nl (in Dutch) is available until end November 2010. Thereafter the name of the site will change to www.klikvoorkamers.nl. This is a dedicated student website offering different ways of finding a room. For instance, by participating in a draw, or by being the first to register for a room which is available immediately for rent. If you have already registered as a student looking for accommodation, you will be sent details in October.

The Internet

A search on the Worldwide Web is not a bad idea either: here you will find various letting agents such as Directwonen.nl and Studentenkamers.nl (in Dutch).

Private lets

There are also private persons who wish to let accommodation. Accommodation is often offered via marktplaats.nl, in supermarkets and in newspapers. Do make firm arrangements!

Study

The canteen/hall at your course often provides a notice board displaying information about accommodation offered for rent.

Own network

Friends, family, colleagues, fellow-students, neighbours .. does anybody know somewhere suitable  for you to rent in Breda?

Hopefully you will soon be able to find accommodation, or different accommodation. Be pro-active and creative, and we are sure that we will be able to welcome you in Breda before long, or, if you are already living in Breda, that you will find other student accommodation quite quickly.
